Description

Beardies Waters is a beautiful location perfect for families visiting Glen Innes Highlands. There are picnic tables, shelters and barbecue area with toilets. Beardies Waters Dam is one of the best bird watching areas in the district. The site supports a great diversity of waterfowl. Platypus have also been seen in the river. There is also plenty of room to go kayaking and canoeing. Travell along the Gwydir Highway towards Grafton for five kilometres. The Woodlands are signposted. You can visit either side of the Beardy, the reserve on the right viewing the dam and the left viewing the river.

Looks like the place has been abandoned by the council. Everything is broken, road is terrible, buildings and toilets broken, rubbish bins over flowing, long grass. Once upon a time was a great place kept neat and today. Now they have also put up a gate and fence and cannot drive down to the dam wall. Like the rest of Glen Innes broken down and pot holes everywhere

A lovely natural area that includes a bicentennial trail.you can access the river and walk along the trail. This part is fenced and dogs need to be on lead. We spotted a wallaby and there are lots of wild flowers. The grass is long too but some areas have been mowed.

Bit run down at the moment but is a really nice spot regardless especially near the water. Tracks were a bit rough but just take it easy if you are pulling a van. Has fire pits and picnic tables.
