We couldn't find signage that said specifically, no car camping. We trialled a night out in our Subie. The view is amazing. We set up a couple chairs and heated up some takeout. Wontons from Karma Tea House are delish! In the evening, there was one other car. We awoke to the council emptying the bins, three surfers rocking up that decided the surf wasn't any chop so stayed chatting at 6am right next to our vehicle. To be expected. It's a public place! Also, be aware that come morning, everyone descends upon the beach to walk their dogs. We parked up near the toilet. If I were to stay there again, I'd park down the other end. Generally, less busy.

Stayed one night. Outside shower and toilets at the right hand of the beach. Some picnic tables. The car park was full by 6am of surfers, do not expect a sleep in. A few picnic tables, and lots of grassed area.
