Be careful parking anywhere in the region. Lots of locals unhappy with free campers overstaying their welcome. Please avoid staying anywhere around this area if you can, tempers are flaring and threats of violence and vandalism have been made in private discussions online.

Tweed Heads is The Free Camping Capital of Oz. Park anywhere. Rangers are non existent. We've been here on and off for 8 years. Never had a problem.

I stayed here one night about 6 months ago before the latest restrictions and it was full. There is an obvious need for cheap overnight parking. Why the council won't do something to provide a space for this? Must be a source of revenue for the area surely
