Description

Auld Pond was named by John McDouall Stuart on Tuesday 20 May 1862 during his third and final successful expedition to traverse the Australian continent from south to north. Stuart also refers to them as Auld's Chain of Ponds. These are the Chain of Ponds Stuart spoke so much about in his journal when traversing this area on the last of multiple attempts to traverse south to north of Australia. No camping or overnight parking.
