Arnhem Highway/Oenpelli Road, Kakadu, Northern Territory

During the dry season the platform at the river-crossing from Kakadu into Arnhem Land is a fantastic and popular place to watch crocodiles in action. The best time to see them here is at high tide. Make sure to observe all croc safety signs. Never enter the water where crocodiles are present. No camping or overnight parking allowed.

The most dangerous river crossing in Australia ! It begs belief why a bridge hasn't been built here . I mean what's the problem?? Besides there beautiful to see crocs in there natural home

As a 5.4m tide pushed mullet and barramundi across Cahill's Crossing, we spotted 7-8 crocs at any one time today. Awesome watching them feeding in their own environment. High tide best time to spot them.

We only saw two crocs here this evening just before high tide. One near the crossing and the other about 200 meters up stream. The evening before we saw none. We waited about 45 minutes this evening and were disappointed not to see more. But it was good anyway.
