Good Areas
We loved this walk beautiful views along the river, go early to avoid the afternoon heat, but well worth it, watch out for snakes and take water, unfortunately no swimming, watch our short video on YouTube - Good Areas Mataranka Facebook - Good Areas Instagram - goodareasaustralia Facebook Group - Freedom Camping

Stayed first couple of days of September. Can't book so get there early afternoon. Once in you find your own site. Showers and toilets are good. Bar area nice to sit in for a few drinks and a meal. Chicken Parmi was good. Mataranka springs was nice (and only a few minutes walk from the park) but preferred our visit to Bitter Springs where the waters are much nicer. Note - pool noodles essential for floating down the springs. Was happy to stay at Mataranka though as the Bitter Springs park is a very long walk to Bitter Springs on a very hot day

If you want to view a tiny waterfall through some trees then go for it, not worth the walk imo
