Excellent (slightly) shorter alternative to the complete rim walk. There is a one-way gate at the end of this walk so hikers can't go any further and get lost. Excellent views!

Well the walk is very difficult. The first 20-30mins is steep rocky stairs. After the first part, you come to more up and down very rocky terrain. Then after about 50mins-1hr, you arrive at the Canyon. To the majority of people this walkis probably not too bad, but for me (very unfit/1 lung) it was extremely difficult. Then I am terrified of heights, so I couldn't even see down in to the Canyon anyway as it is very deep, and there was NO WAY I was standinganywhere near the edge. My hubby on the other hand, loved it, and daidthe walk wasn't that hard.

To be honest it's better to do the rim walk. Just take the first bit easy and then it's not too strenuous (I'm unfit too). So much beauty to see it's a waste to only do this portion. Also please don't sit on the edge of the rocks, if you fall propel have to scrape your dead body off the gorge floor, it's just silly and dangerous.
