Description

Rest area offering toilets. It is dog friendly. It is accessible to RVs, camper trailers and caravans. Camping in tents is allowed. You can stay here for up to 20 hours. Take all rubbish with you and leave no trace. Enter the site from the 'That Pizza Guy's' driveway. Some navigation apps can give misleading directions. This area offers access to the Jowarra section of Mooloolah River National Park, where short walks are available. Mooloolah River circuit Distance: 500 m return. Time: allow 20 mins This short, self-guided rainforest walk winds along a crystal clear creek. The fruiting fig trees here attract many birds and this is a good spot for birdwatching. Melaleuca Walk Distance: 1.3 km return. Time: allow 40 mins Rainforest with piccabeen palm groves, eucalypt forest and melaleuca swamp awaits those taking this longer walk. The river here is home to platypus, which may be seen by quiet and observant visitors at dawn and dusk. Domestic animals are not permitted within Mooloolah River National Park.
