Description

Keppel Bay Islands National Park has seven islands offering a range of camping opportunities. There is no ferry service to any of the national park islands. Some charter operators service the area. If relying on commercial transport to the islands ensure you have organised your vessel passage prior to booking your camping holiday. Camping permits are required and fees apply. Obtain your permit before setting up camp and attach it to your tent in a visible position. Miall Island camping area features fringing reefs on the south-eastern and northern sides of the island are very good for diving and snorkelling. The camping area is behind the small beach and fore dune to the south-west. Miall Island is 11km east of Rosslyn Bay Harbour. The camping area can be reached by boat only. There is 1 site only with a maximum of 6 people. The site is suitable for tents only. There are no facilities. Open Fires are prohibited, but gas and fuel stoves are recommended. Generators and pets are not permitted. Mobile coverage is generally reliable. VHF marine radios and satellite phones are recommended.
