Description
Camping permits are required and fees apply. Obtain your permit before leaving the mainland. Attach your camping tag to your tent in a visible position after setting up camp.
Curtis Island National Park is remote. Pack enough supplies for a few extra days. Always inform someone of your plans.
A vehicle ferry operates between Gladstone and the island. The national park can also be accessed by private boat.
Turtle Street Camping area features bush camping under coastal she-oaks with easy access to the beach.
Access is by 4WD and boat only. Follow the unsealed roads north from Southend.
Sites are unpowered. unmarked and are suitable for tents, 4WD camper trailers and 4WD camper vans. There are no facilities. Open fires are prohibited. Gas and fuel stoves are recommended.
Generators and pets are not permitted.
Mobile phone coverage is unreliable. Marine radios and satellite phones are recommended.
