Description

Canyon Resources Reserve, traditional country of the Ewamian Aboriginal people. The reserve is located approximately 30km east of Forsayth and 20km west of Einasleigh by gazetted road. It it 6km from the turnoff on the Einasleigh-Forsayth road. The reserve is closed during the wet season, from 1 November to 31 March inclusive, when it is inaccessible. There is a maximum stay of 21 nights. There is a maximum number of 10 occupants in each camp site. Wandu Camping Area has two seperate and partially shaded sites in upland forest. Toilets are available at the site. Online advanced booking is required. Four wheel drive and off-road camper trailers are recommended. There is no access during the wet season. Open fires are allowed only at your camp site (except when fire bans apply). Use existing fireplaces if provided. Firewood must not be collected from the reserve. Fuel stoves are recommended. Generators are permitted at your camp site only but must not exceed noise levels of 65 dB(A) at a distance of 7m from the generator.
