Running Creek Rd, Rathdowney, Queensland.
Description
Rathdowney has a small, friendly caravan park with a number of powered sites and an extensive well-kept lawn area has been established. It has ample room for campers and those who do not require power for their van. Travellers are welcome to stay for a period of up to two weeks at a time. There are a small number of permanent residents in the park.
The park is situated within the Memorial Grounds precinct and it is just a short walk to the post office, hotel or shops. On the opposite side of the main oval are the Bowls Club, children's playground and picnic shelter that has an electric BBQ. The Visitor Information Centre with its Historical Museum is also located within this area.
A 25m swimming pool located at the school is open to the public 7 days a week in the afternoon during the week in school holiday time and week-ends during the swimming season.
The park's ablution block and laundry have just recently been refurbished with non- slip floor covering. Hot water for showers and laundry is available and the laundry has a coin operated washing machine that needs 2 one dollar coins to operate. The laundry also has a small collection of novels and magazines available for visitors and permanent residents to avail themselves of. There is also a wood burning BBQ in the park and it is hoped that in the near future a camp kitchen will be available.
