Description

This building is probably the oldest in the Emerald District. Built as a Court House in Cometville as the Central Railway headed west, it was later used as a school at Comet on the Capricorn Highway east of Emerald. After being 'condemned' as a school, it was purchased by the newly-formed QCWA branch at Gindie for their restrooms. It was dismantled & moved to it's current site where it was rebuilt & has remained ever since. In 2014, the branch closed & the hall was acquired by Central Highlands Has Talent, a local country music group. The building originally had dormer windows in the roof.
