Description

Framed by the rugged peaks of Mt Castletower National Park, Lake Awoonga is situated a short drive from Gladstone or Boyne Island/Tannum Sands. There is a lookout which provides spectacular views of Lake Awoonga and Castletower National Park. Sheltered picnic and BBQ areas are located throughout the Lake Awoonga Recreation Area. No fires are to be lit outside of designated fireplaces. Please note that domestic animals are not permitted at the recreation area. No camping or overnight parking.
