Description

This water tap is located behind the tree as seen in the photo. Taroom town water comes from the Precipice sandstone aquifer in the Great Artesian basin. (The Precipice Sandstone aquifer can be seen directly at Isla Gorge) The water free flows from an 870m deep artesian bore near the Taroom show grounds. Taroom town water is vey low in salt (about 160 uS/cm) and requires a bare minimal treatment before entering the pipe system. The water comes out of the ground at 43C.
