Description

Mt Dare Hotel is ideally situated on the Western edge of the Simpson Desert just 10km south of the Northern Territory border. Free camper/camper storage for broken vehicles & those crossing the desert to leave their trailers behind. There is a camping ground out the back with bush showers and flushing toilets. Booking for camping is NOT required. There is also a laundry machine for $5 and a clothes line. On site are 2 ensuite cabins, 4 standard cabins & 2 dongas. The pub serves breakfast (8-10), lunch (12-2) & dinner (6-8.) Pies/Sausage Rolls are available all day. Yearly/Day/Camping Parks passes can be purchased here, as well as satellite phone hire (must book in advance.) Dogs are allowed in the Mt Dare complex if they are behaved, however they are not allowed within the Witjira National Park (Dalhousie & Pedirka) outside of Mt Dare. This is remote, and getting here is via dirt roads. There is no reception or wifi here, only a free Telstra phone. There is a workshop for tyre/electical/mechanical repairs. Gas bottle refills, diesel and premium unleaded are available. Bins are available. There is no dump point. Mini mart inside pub stocks essentials. Mt Dare carries out recoveries in the Simpson Desert and surrounding areas.
