Genoa Campground (also known as the Genoa Rest Area or Recreation Reserve) is a spacious, donation-based camp in far East Gippsland, Victoria. Located just off the Princes Highway alongside the Genoa River, it offers grassy sites, recreational facilities, and is a popular stopover before crossing into New South Wales. Key Features & Amenities Campsite Type: Unpowered, large grassy open spaces suitable for tents, camper trailers, and big rigs. Facilities: Flushing toilets, non-potable water, picnic tables, electric/gas BBQs, and bins. Recreation: Children's playground, tennis courts, and a half-basketball court. The historic timber bridge (now pedestrian-only) is a short walk away and offers beautiful river views. Pets: Dog-friendly (must be kept on a leash or contained). Local Attractions: The historic Genoa Pub is just across the road, and the beautiful Genoa Falls are only about 5 km away. Essential Details & Rules Fees: Free, though a modest donation is highly encouraged to help the East Gippsland Shire Council maintain the reserve. Donation boxes are located near the toilet block.
