Carnegie Station

Campground

Description

Over 1 million acres of arid desert to explore on this working cattle station, this is one of Australia's remotest locations. The camping area is located close to the homestead, where you can find green lawn and cool trees to relax under. For those who would like privacy, a selection of donga style accommodation is available for visitors. Power is not 24 hours - use of electric appliances is restricted. Campsites are unpowered and suitable for tents, camper trailers and caravans. Refresh yourself with a clean shower and supplies at the visitor centre before planning your next day's adventure around the campfire. A camp kitchen and BBQ facilities are available. With early pioneer history, beautiful sandstone scenery, billabongs to swim in and adventures to discover, a visit to Carnegie Station will become an unforgettable memory. Surprise yourself at what you find as you explore the creeks, salt lakes and tall stands of ghost gum trees. Search for dingos, kangaroos and a vast array of birdlife to the wild brumbies and camels that roam the open spaces. Diesel and unleaded fuel is available.
