THIS IS A FREE CAMP, FIRES ARE ALLOWED, except on total fire ban days. Toilet & Dump point at Old Town site. Campground located along the Ashburton River. Access is via unsealed road suitable for 2WD. It is dog friendly. The local council would like campers who are staying more than 3 days to register with them for safety reasons, eg, some weather event keeping people stuck in the camping area. This is NOT a paid camp ground! FIRES are allowed except on total fire ban days.
