Description

Whalebone Bay camping area is located 26 kilometres south of Denham, off Shark Bay Road. This site is run by the Shire of Shark Bay. You must purchase a permit prior to setting up camp. Obtain a permit at Shark Bay Discovery and Visitor Centre in person or by calling 08 9948 1590 and paying via credit card, please also have your vehicle registration number handy. Permits are for 24 hours and restricted to one night only. The sites are patrolled by a Ranger, however you cannot buy the permit from the Ranger. Bookings are only taken on the day that you intend to camp. The sites are accessible using a two-wheel drive via unsealed roads. Sites are unpowered and suitable for tents, camper trailers, motorhomes and caravans. There are no facilities. Camp in designated (cleared) areas only. Camp fires are strictly prohibited. Chemical toilets or port-a-loos are required. Otherwise please ensure that waste is buried. All rubbish must be removed from the site. Telstra 4g on last 2 sites just back from roundabout on hill.
