Description

Woolgangie Rock was modified as a catchment to provide water to steam locomotives. It is a site on the Golden Pipeline Heritage Trail and features ruins and interpretative signs. When exploring the park, visitors can stop at Woolgangie Rock and see where water was channelled into rock dams through a series of rock walls and rock-lined channels constructed from slabs of granite. Visitors can also learn more about the pipe line along the popular self- drive tourist route called the Golden Pipeline Heritage Trail. The drive runs though the park on your way from Mundaring near Perth to Kalgoorlie and provides a tourist route incorporating different biological and historical features including distinctive rock catchments along the historic Goldfields railway and pipeline. Dogs are not permitted. No camping or overnight parking allowed.
