Description
This 2 m tall and 3 m long bronze sculpture is Susan Flavell's interpretation of a Chimera. A Chimera in Greek mythology was a fire-breathing female beast that was depicted as a lion with the head of a goat protruding from its back and a snake's head at the end of its tail. This chimera is a little less threatening with a bear-like face. The hissing snake at the end of its tail has red eyes and a very large forked tongue.
