Description

This is a free point of interest. No camping or overnight parking allowed. Hi all, Giles Weather Station no longer conducts daily tours. However, to view the balloons they are launched at 8:45AM and PM daily (ACST), best to arrive at 8:20-30AM and park on the opposite side of the road to the station (in front of the old water tank). Crew may be happy to show the balloon launch in further detail but it will depend on workload and each individual crew (we run on a 4 month tour/rotation). Please do not drive through through the station, especially if it is close to launch time! Len Bedell's grader and the remains of the Blue Streak Rocket are located up the dirt road opposite the airport Cheers! (Feb-June 2022 Giles Crew)
