Description

This Historic stone shed built during the mid 19th century by the Moir family, using convict and possibly Noongar labour. It was used by the pioneer farmers for wool and storage of goods to be loaded onto ships. Bales of wool were manhandled into an open boat that was hauled by rope out to meet the ship. The last trading ship called at Cape Riche on 1935/36 when transport of wool by road or rail became more viable. The Moir family continue to live and work on properties adjoining this reserve. No camping allowed in this area.
